Vasudev has a PhD in Biomedical engineering from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. His PhD thesis focussed on utilizing nanotechnology for early detection of cancer. For his undergraduate degree, he majored in Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Political Science and graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from UC Irvine. He is both a Hodson Foundation Fellow as well as a Medtronic Scholar. He was nominated to join Sigma Xi and is part of IEEE, Tau Sigma and the National Dean's list. He has over twenty first author conference, journal or research presentations and holds two provisional patents for technology from his research.
