Kayo Yin graduated from École Polytechnique in 2020 with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Mathematics, where she defended her thesis on sign language translation. She is currently a Master's student in Language Technologies at Carnegie Mellon University. Her research focuses on multilingual Natural Language Processing that strives to improve communication between users of different languages and to enable everyone to benefit from language technologies using their preferred language, spoken or signed. Prior to her graduate studies, she was a researcher at Illuin Technology where she developed models to denoise scanned documents for optical character recognition and to perform unsupervised question answering in French. She also interned at La Javaness where she developed a multi-label email classification model.
