About

During her studies at UCB, Ashima has been working on declarative networking and researching, doing distributed statistical inference for network monitoring using P2. Specifically, she has been working in collaboration with CMU and Georgia Tech to implement a distributed behavioral blacklisting technique that clusters spammers based on their sending pattern. Her group included statistical machine learning tools into the P2 system, and she led the group that used these tools to implement behavioral blacklisting technique. Her involvement with this group started with a volunteer project implementing Pastry overlay network in P2, for which she had no guidance or documentation. Prior, she worked for Persistent Systems Private Limited, where she led a team of four to develop a GPRS enabled handheld application to do offsite data collection.
