Dr. Juliane R. Sempionatto Wins Distinguished IUPAC-SOLVAY Award
Class of 2021 Siebel Scholar Dr. Juliane R. Sempionatto from UC San Diego’s Jacobs School of Engineering receives distinguished International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry and Solvay award for Young Chemists for her groundbreaking thesis on “Wearable Electrochemical Sensors for Non-Invasive Health Monitoring.”
Established in 2000 to encourage outstanding young research scientists at the beginning of their careers. The awards are given for the most outstanding Ph.D. theses in the general area of the chemical sciences, as described in a 1000-word essay. Each award consists of $1,000 cash award and up to $1,000 towards travel expenses to attend the 2023 IUPAC Congress in The Hague on August 18 to August 25, 2023, where the awards will be presented.
